Donna Thompson is a graduate of Martin Methodist College and received her designation of Registered Health Underwriter, RHU, in 1995 from the American College. Donna is a member of the Middle Tennessee Association of Health Underwriters and has served as past Board Member and Past Legislative Chair Person. Donna is also a member of the BlueCross BlueShield Agent Advisory Council and has served on the BCBS Individual Agent Advisory Council. Donna has the knowledge and expertise in assisting clients with negotiating comprehensive competitive benefit programs and will procure the best products at the best price in the market place. Donna knows how and where to find answers to your employee benefits, risk management, insurance and human resource questions. Donna and her staff provide enrollment support, customized communications and daily ongoing administration, including but not limited to, working with difficult claim issues for your employees.
Cara was an Account Manager and Marketing Consultant with Roussel & Associates in 2002 before the acquisition with Brown & Brown Insurance of TN. She developed strong customer service and marketing skills in her time as an account executive, focusing her efforts on client satisfaction. In 2016, Cara was promoted to Service Manager. In addition to managing client accounts, she also manages the service team, including account executives, eligibility specialists and technical assistants. Cara’s role as service manager is to support our claims analyst and coordinate additional services needed for our clients. Cara will assist with any compliance/reporting issues and day to day implementation of the plan. Cara will oversee tasks including compliance audits, billing and enrollment reconciliation, and employee claims issues. She has worked in multiple insurance service roles over the past two decades.
David graduated from Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University in 1988 and began his career at First Union National Bank, spending four years in management. He then became a Group Marketing Representative with The Guardian Life Insurance Company, then later joining First Horizon Insurance, now Brown & Brown of Tennessee, and has been a consultant with our agency since 1998. David’s focus is on bringing transparent solutions to employers to reduce overall cost to employees and employers. He helps companies develop self-funded programs with value based pricing, on-site clinics, and fully transparent PBM’s to assist them in becoming more profitable. David provides enrollment support, customized communications, and negotiation for everything from stop-loss to voluntary benefits. He is experienced and is currently working with union and non-union programs. David is a member of National Association of Health Underwriters and the Middle TN Employee Benefits Council. David is also an active member at Covenant Presbyterian Church and is married with four children.
Sam started his insurance career in 1976. Shortly after starting his career, he founded Cook & Lord Insurance Agency in 1980. The values he had when he first started, he instills today. Sam always deals from a position of strength; treating his customers more than what he’s promised, and being fair and measured. Sam is a licensed in Property & Casualty and Life Insurance agent. Sam has been with Brown & Brown Insurance of TN since 2011 and credits his longevity to loving what he does for his customers and their mutual respect of him.
